Cameron HouseCameron House

Cameron House is an historical building which was built in 1770 for the Dick family, owners of the Prestonfield estate and the nearby Prestonfield House. It stands in Cameron House Avenue amidst public housing in the Prestonfield district of Edinburgh.

Cameron House was extended and divided into flats in 1973. It is now used by the Community Education Department of Edinburgh City Council.

Prestonfield House, one of Scotland's finest historic mansions, was built in 1687 by Sir William Bruce, the King's Architect, for Sir James Dick, a Lord Provost of the city. Since 1958 it has been a hotel and a proportion of its grounds form Prestonfield Golf Course.

The house is located to the south of Holyrood Park, adjacent to Arthur's Seat.
